Let me explain. I live and work in Greece. I have a house on the mainland and a flat in Athens, but a place by the sea, well that would be something wouldn't it...but really now...is it worth all the aggro and expense and would l almost be committed to visit every weekend? To the exclusion of all other beautiful places in Greece and elsewhere? My 2 kids were grown up. Ads was 19 and Lolly 25...they both lived in the UK and with a divorce 3 years past ,wasnt this the time to free myself of trappings and commitments...?

This piece of land was close to the sea in a deserted bay. It was for sale. It measured 733m2 and is just below the church of Agia Parascavi on Paximada peninsular between Marmaris and Karistos on the southern tip of the island of Evia. The whole peninsular was bought from 3 owners in 2005, by the army officers pension fund. Plots of land were given to retired army officers and now some of the plots were being offered for sale. A telephone number was scrawled on a slab of white marble and l made a note of it.

View of the Agia Parascavi Church and my 2 empty plots below.
